Lake Towada and Oirase Gorge

Lake Towada and Oirase Gorge
Lake Towada is the third largest crater lake in Japan. You can enjoy the changing color of nature from a sightseeing boat that runs the vast surface of the lake. Oirase Stream flows over about 1.4 km from the Oirase River that flows out of Lake Towada gently and violently with a splash. Compared with static Lake Towada, Oirase Stream is covered with a deep natural forest, with scenes that are full of lively motion induced by the kaleidoscopic water flow.

  Osorezan (Mt. Osore)

Osorezan (Mt. Osore)
Osorezan is counted as one of the Japan’s three major holy places together with Hieizan (Mt. Hiei) and Koyasan (Mt. Koya). The temple is said to have been established in 862 by the priest Jikaku Daishi. It is a famous mountain as a holly place where the psychic media "itako" call the dead souls and speak in the voice of the dead person. In a sulfur smell that hangs over and the desolate scenery you can catch a glimpse of a different space, hell, and paradise. Visitors can take a bath freely, in four medicinal bathes in the precincts of a temple.
