※ Immerse yourself in the grand, stunning landscapes of Hachimantai that change every season.

In Satoyama (area between mountain hills and arable land), where nature, people, and animals live in harmony, circulation of resources has been passed down since ancient times.

In this program, you will get up close with horses indigenous to Japan (a breed close to Nanbu-goma), learn about the relationship among nature, animals, and people from ancient times to the present day, and connect with trees in the forest and horses.

Simple horse treks are also available. Ride a horse through snow-covered landscapes in the winter, or through a beautiful meadow and beech forest dating back 1,000 years ago in the Appi Kogen during the non-snowy season.
