Handmade Usukawa Manju Workshop(KASHIWAYA Co., Ltd.)

Make and eat freshly steamed traditional-style usukawa manju

Usukawa manju, which literally means thin-skinned manju, is a Japanese sweet bun characterized by a thin outer layer of dough. The thin layer is filled with a red bean paste made with carefully selected adzuki beans. With the dough on your left hand, the paste is pushed into the dough while turning it skillfully. Push-turn-push-turn. The quicker this is done, the tastier the manju. After making four manju, they are steamed over scalding vapors for approximately eight minutes. Then they’re done! Enjoy the warmth of handmade manju. *The manju may be put inside a box and taken home.
