In this tour, you will get to know true samurai spirits and pray for peace at the Snow Lantern Festival.
On Day 1, you will learn the history of Yonezawa City and the spirituality of the Uesugi family. In addition, you will change into a kimono and wear armor, just like the samurai you imagined, and perform a dance and take commemorative photos with the performance troupe Ai no Bushotai.
On Day 2, you will get a firsthand look at how samurai behaved and thought, centered around the period of feudal lord Uesugi Yozan. Specifically, you will get a glimpse of the true samurai in peacetime and how they protected citizens and industries (industry development: Sashiko stitching [embroidering cloth in a geometric pattern], dyeing and weaving, etc.).
Day 3 will focus on food and souvenirs, which will include a visit to a sake brewery and eating ramen inside a kamakura (a type of igloo with an altar enshrining the god of water).
