A place of worship with an over 1,100-year history, Ryutakusan Zenpoji Temple is dedicated to the Dragon King (Ryujin/龍神), the guardian of the sea. Zenpoji Temple is one of the three major prayer centers of the Soto sect of Buddhism, together with Saijoji Temple in Minami Ashigara City in Kanagawa Prefecture and Myogonji Temple in Toyokawa Nishi-machi, Toyokawa City, Aichi Prefecture. The highly acclaimed Zenpoji Temple offers the authentic experience of Zen practice.
◯ 2-day and 1-night stay Zen monk experience... Experience the daily life of a Zen monk, starting from climbing the mountain in the morning to the end of the program.
◯ Zazen and monk’s vegetarian food experience... After zazen practice, you will eat in the style of Zen monk: one soup and one vegetable.
