Sendai Uminomori Aquarium is one of the largest aquariums in the Tohoku region.
It opened in 2015 with the concept of "creating a new connection between the sea and people," the aquarium exhibits 50,000 living creatures of about 300 species. A large tank recreates life in the ocean of Sanriku, and performances by dolphins, sea lions, and birds are also available for viewing. In addition, there are programs for interacting with the animals. There is a food court for dining and souvenirs are available to buy at the shop.

A free shuttle bus will be provided from Nakanosakae Station (JR Senseki Line) to the Sendai Umino-Mori Aquarium for visitors using public transportation (approx. 10 minutes).
