Hakkoda Snow Corridor

Hakkouda Snow Corridor, a snow wall that heralds the arrival of spring

Every year on April 1, Hakkoda's winter slumber is awakened by the opening of the Hakkoda-Towada Gold Line (Sukayu/Taniike), National Route 103, which is closed during the winter. For a while after the opening, visitors can enjoy driving along the snow corridor, which reaches a height of up to 9 meters. Just before the opening, the popular "Hakkoda Snow Corridor and Hot Springs Walk" will be held. This is a special event held only during this season, allowing visitors to walk along the snow corridor, touch the pure white snow walls, and experience the spring in Hakkouda.
