Nebuta Museum WA-RASSE is in Aomori City's Cultural Tourism Exchange Facility where you can fully enjoy the history and charm of the Nebuta Festival and experience every aspect of it throughout the year.
The Nebuta Museum Nebuta Hall on the first floor is the main attraction of the facility. The vast space that opens up to the second floor has a permanent exhibition of large Nebuta that were actually used in the festival. You can fully immerse yourself in the world of the Nebuta Festival, surrounded by real Nebuta as shamisen, flutes, and Nebuta hayashi music plays in the background.
The Nebuta Museum on the second floor showcases the origin and history of Nebuta. You can also learn about the production techniques and styles for making Nebuta, and how the themes have changed over time. The museum also introduces the history of the city, which has developed along with Nebuta, through easy-to-understand videos and displays.
