Kagamiishi Rice Field Art

Concept: Picture books viewed from the window - another library

Rice field art involves depicting pictures by treating a rice field as a single canvas with the different colored rice taking the place of paints. This art extends out to the east of JR Kagamiishi Station around July and August. Pictures are drawn using the motifs of nursery rhymes, children's stories and songs under the concept of ""picture books viewed from the window - another library.""

This is large agricultural art created by small seedlings one by one. What kind of pictures will be drawn on the earth this year? Please take a look from the observation room on the fourth floor of Kagamiishi Town Library.
