Experience the lifestyle of zensou (Zen monks)(Kesennuma Tourism & Convention Bureau)

Find yourself through zazen (Zen meditation) while learning about the temple’s 460-year-long history and recovery from the great earthquake and tsunami

Seiryo-in Temple has a history of 460 years. Take in the beautiful ocean view from the main hall while meditating. A lecture on zazen (Zen meditation) is given for participants, and so first-timers can feel free to join. After meditating, the temple monks who lived through the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami will speak about their lessons learned and the importance of living in harmony with others.
