Akita Inu Kaikan (Odate City, Akita Prefecture)

It is the headquarters of the Akita Inu Preservation Society, and its signature dog, Akita Inu, greets visitors at the office. The Akita Inu Museum, located on the third floor, exhibits materials related to Akita Inu, a natural treasure.In front of the museum, there is a bronze statue of Hachiko, a loyal dog born in Odate City. The statue was made in the image of Hachiko in his later years (age 12), and his left ear is drooping.
