Hiburi Kamakura (Senboku City, Akita Prefecture)

It is a small New Year's event held every year on February 14 to pray for a safe and healthy year for the family and for the safety of the household as well as to drive away evil spirits in the rice paddies with a sacred fire.
In the hifuri, a 1-meter rope is tied around a bale of charcoal, the bale is lit on fire, and the person holding the end of the rope swings it around his or her body.
