A part of the site of the former Japan National Railways (JNR) Nichu Line, which was closed down in 1984, was developed as a promenade, and approximately 1,000 weeping cherry trees are planted along the 3 km length from the promenade entrance located a 5-minute walk west of Kitakata Station, making it one of the largest weeping cherry trees in Japan. In addition, an SL train that was running at that time is displayed at the halfway point of the path, where visitors can enjoy the collaboration with weeping cherry trees. The cherry blossom tunnel is a great photo spot.
