 Aomori Prefecture is Japan's largest producer of nagaimo (Chinese yam).  Nagaimo are rich in protein, minerals, and other nutrients.  "We wanted to make shochu using the nutritious nagaimo of Rokkasho Village," which led to the birth of Rokushu, which has a smooth, rich taste.
