Imayo Tsukasa Sake Brewery Co. Ltd.

Visit a brewery within walking distance from Niigata Station and enjoy tastings and shopping

Imayo Tsukasa Sake Brewery Co. Ltd.
Founded in 1767 in Nuttari, Niigata, a town of fermented foods. A sake brewery that brews all of its products using pure rice without adding distilled alcohol.

The brewery is only a 15-minute walk from Niigata Station. During the tour, the staff will guide you through the brewery, explaining the history of Niigata, the Nuttari region, and the sake-making process. At the tasting corner, you can sample more than ten kinds of sake and non-alcoholic koji amazake (fermented rice drink), including sake brewed in wooden vats, which was revived for the first time in half a century. Shopping at the stylish direct sales shop renovated from a warehouse built during the middle of the Meiji period (1868-1912) is another fun part of the experience. You can also find limited-edition sake, original sweets, and miscellaneous goods, some of which are only available here. Reservations are required for the brewery tour, but same-day reservations are possible if space is available. (http://imayotsukasa.co.jp/brewery/)
