Asamushi Fishing Park juts out into Mutsu Bay, and is teeming with different kinds of fish. Asamushi Onsen resort is also just a short walk away. Located 110 meters off the sightseeing port, the water is 7-9 meters deep here with a flat seabed, a 0.9 meter tide, and a fast current, which creates good conditions for fish to gather.
During the May to October fishing season, the bay is teeming with fish, such as aburame rock fish, flounder, soi rockfish, mebaru rockfish, black seabream, striped beakfish, and inada amberjack. You can come as you are because rental fishing rods are available. If you have your own, you are allowed to bring up to two of your own fishing rods. There are also days when you can casually try night fishing. Come alone or bring your family for some fun. Children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by a guardian.
Drop your line in the water, feel the refreshing breeze of Mutsu Bay, and enjoy a great day.
