The local museum, which utilizes the head office of the former Akita Bank, was constructed in 1912.The exterior is Renaissance style, and the interior is Baroque style.It is a nationally designated Important Cultural Property.It houses traditional Akita crafts, a memorial hall for printmaker Tokushi Katsuhira, and a memorial room for living national treasure metal smith Shiro Sekiya.
