Make Bread Using Shirakami Kodama Yeast and Look for Living Species in the Woodland(Happo Tourism Association)

Make bread using Shirakami Kodama Yeast and look for living species in the Goshonodai woodland

Shirakami-Sanchi, a mountainous area straddling Akita and Aomori Prefectures, is a habitat for a range of animals, insects, and bacteria.

This program lets you have a try at baking bread using Shirakami Kodama Yeast discovered in Shirakami-Sanchi.

In between fermentation and baking, head to the woodland to look for seasonal living species. A guide on Shirakami will introduce you to seasonal trees and flowering plants. In the winter, it’s fun to trace the footprints of animals.

At the end of the program, you’ll taste the world’s one and only bread that you made with care.

Bread making supplies are provided. Please dress appropriately for walking in the woodland.
