Submerged Forest Canoe Tour

Canoe trip to the miraculous "submerged forest of Shirakawa Lake

At Shirakawa Lake, located at the foot of the Iide mountain range, trees are submerged up to their trunks in water only in spring when the water level rises due to melting snow, creating a fantastic scene of a submerged forest. The contrast between the willow trees that have begun to sprout and Mt. Iide covered with lingering snow is truly a spectacular view created by nature and human activity that can only be encountered here. This is a hands-on tour in a canoe, paddled by yourself.

You can enjoy the special experience of walking through the fantastic scenery. This tour is available only from late March to late May every year. You can also experience canoeing in the middle reaches of Lake Shirakawa from June to November.Canoeing tours take visitors through the lake surrounded by the great outdoors. You can enjoy a bit of adventure while surrounded by blue skies, white clouds, and chirping birds.

Even if you are a first-time canoeist, life jackets and equipment are available for rent, and the guides will provide support so that you can enjoy the tour with peace of mind.
