"Isedotai Site and Jomonkan Museum (Kitaakita, Akita Prefecture) "

A power spot during the Jomon period

The Isedotai Site is a large-scale ritual site from the first half of the late Jomon period (about 4,000 years ago), near which multiple stone circles were discovered.

Many facilities for festivals and prayers have been found, such as stone circles, stone remnants, excavated pillar buildings, and pit tombs.

The Isedotai Jomonkan Museum displays about 300 clay figurines and earthenware excavated from the Isedotai Site.

In addition to holding small-scale lectures, visitors can try their hand at making magatama (comma-shaped beads) and earthenware at the museum's “hands-on” corner.

On weekends and holidays, a group of volunteers provides guided tours of the site.
