Ramen Making Experience & Strolling Through the Historic Storehouse Town of Kitakata
This program offers a unique opportunity to experience ramen not only as a dish, but as an integral part of Kitakata’s culture. Under the guidance of a former ramen shop owner who has spent many years running a ramen restaurant in Kitakata, participants will carefully prepare authentic Kitakata ramen from scratch, taking time to make the soup and chashu pork step by step.
While the soup is simmering, you will explore the city on foot, strolling through the historic streets lined with traditional storehouses. Along the way, you will discover the region’s brewing culture that has flourished thanks to its abundant water resources, as well as the history of local life—making this a richly story-driven experience.
Program Flow:
Learn about the history and culture of Kitakata ramen and begin preparing the soup
Walk through the city while listening to stories related to ramen and local culture
Stop by sake breweries (tasting and purchases available) and souvenir shops along the way
Prepare toppings, boil the noodles, and complete your bowl of ramen
