Yuze Onsen, located midway between Morioka and Lake Towada, is an onsen area along a mountain stream. Its name is said to originate from when hot water bursts forth from the river stream. It is a place where you will be soothed by the picturesque scenery of the valley that changes from mountain cherry trees to fresh greenery to autumn foliage, as well as the murmuring river. It is also an optimal base for trekking in the Yuze Valley.

The regional Akita dish known as Kiritanpo Nabe offerred at the hot spring inns is also enjoyable.
