Half-day tour exploring the history, the food, and the city of Date Masamune
Date Masamune was a food-loving general who left the famous saying: “People with no understanding of food are the owners of narrow minds.”
It is said that Date Masamune had miso production warehouses built near his castle and cooked in the kitchen himself. This tour starts by exploring Sendai’s morning market, then traveling on the Loople Sendai Bus to see famous sites related to the general, such as the Zuihoden mausoleum complex and the remains of Sendai’s Aoba Castle. During the tour, you will try six types of local foods inspired by Date Masamune.
