Kaisho-no Yakata Former Kamei Residence
The Kaisho-no Yakata Former Kamei Residence is a historical building. It was built in 1924 by the first president of Kamei Corporation in Shiogama. The Japanese and Western-style housing architectural style that incorporates a Western-style building in a traditional Japanese-style building was adopted for this structure. This means it is a building with an extremely high historic value - in fact, it would be difficult to reproduce this structure with modern technology.
Volunteer guides are permanently stationed here. Efforts are taking place to provide individual travelers with a guide around Shiogama Shrine and the surrounding streets. You will find the building immediately on the left just after starting to climb up the hill to the rear of Shiogama Shrine. Therefore, why don't you stop by on your way to visit Shiogama-sama?
You can also see stunning tiered doll decorations in a retro world during the period of the Hinamatsuri (Dolls' Festival).
