This is the Hanamaki way! Eating soft serve ice cream with disposable chopsticks!

Marukan Department Store, a landmark of Hanamaki and a place of relaxation for Hanamaki residents, regrettably ended its 43-year history on June 7, 2016 due to aging. However, a survival project by young business owners was launched after that, starting with a signature drive by high school students, and on February 20, 2017, it reopened as the "Marukan Building. At the large cafeteria on the 6th floor of this building, a popular dish is the 10-tiered roll of soft-serve ice cream, which is eaten with disposable chopsticks, the Hanamaki way.
