Dress up in Authentic Samurai Armor and Step Into the Shoes of a Warrior!
In Shiroishi City, Miyagi Prefecture, you’ll find Shiroishi Castle, the home of Katakura Kojuro and the Katakura clan, who served as senior retainers to the warlord Date Masamune. Visitors to the castle can take part in the "Be a Samurai" experience, where you can wear authentic armor and feel like a military commander from the Warring States Period!
There are three different plans to choose from. With the "Samurai Armor Dressing Experience Plan," you can try on armor representing Date Masamune, Katakura Kojuro, or Sanada Yukimura—each painstakingly crafted by skilled artisans—inside the castle.
The "Sendai Walking Tour Plan," on the other hand, allows you to stroll through the shopping streets of Sendai City dressed in the armor of the Date clan. Lastly, the "Movie Filming Plan" lets you shoot a few minutes of footage while wearing armor at Shiroishi Castle!

During the experience, you can browse the souvenir shops, and enjoy a bowl of matcha and traditional yokan (sweet bean jelly) at a local teahouse. Don’t miss the Ouchi-juku Pavilion to learn how ordinary people lived here during the Edo Period. There's also a hill that offers a panoramic view of Ouchi-juku, making it a perfect spot for taking amazing photos♪
