Handmade goods experience workshop IRODORI

Making one-of-a-kind "Neputa-e" Fans and Lanterns

Kuroishi's Nakamachi Komise Street, one of the "100 Best Streets in Japan," is a street where traditional buildings built in the Edo period still remain. The "Handmade Goods Workshop IRODORI" stands in the corner. The workshop offers hands-on experience of making and selling fans and lanterns made from recycled "Neputa pictures" that were actually used in the Kuroishi Neputa Festival. To make uchiwa (Japanese fan), choose your favorite part of the giant neputa picture and cut it out to fit the uchiwa mold.Since no two fans have the same design, you can create your own, one-of-a-kind fan!The lanterns, which are made by selecting and combining square pieces cut from a Neputa picture, are lined with traditional colors and patterns, making them even more special. We invite you to experience the experience of creating something that comes to life in a new way at "IRODORI.

In the store, there are many unique Tsugaru goods made by Aomori artists. You can also enjoy encountering unique items such as "neo local toys" such as "Ringo Kokeshi Dolls" and "Hatobu E! and other "neo local toys" that can only be found here.
