KIZUKI Tours for Parents and Children~Enjoy Sendai and Natori area in a day trip~

Sendai City, which has developed as the political and economic center of Tohoku, offers a diverse culinary culture, shopping, and many other attractions, including the remains of the earthquake that left traces of the tsunami, and the aquarium and commercial complex that is leading the region as a symbol of reconstruction.

Across the river in the neighboring city of Natori, there is a morning market where you can grill freshly caught local seafood on the beach, café time while enjoying the river view, and an exchange center where you can try SUP.

Both Sendai and Natori were affected by the earthquake, but both areas are in the process of recovering strongly, and new facilities and scenery are being built in the process.

We hope you will enjoy this fulfilling trip for parents and children, where children can nurture their senses and feel the strength of humanity by experiencing the trajectory of powerful reconstruction while enjoying leisure and shopping in the suburbs of the city!

Yuriage Harbor Morning Market

The market has a history of over 30 years and has successfully recovered from the earthquake disaster, allowing visitors to experience up close the vitality that is unique to this area. Visitors can enjoy eating local specialties such as seafood, processed seafood, vegetables, and fruits at about 50 stores!

Freshly purchased seafood is grilled over charcoal, and visitors can also participate in the "Seri Market," a fresh seafood market! On Sundays and holidays when parents and children wake up a little earlier, go to Yuriage Port for a special breakfast experience!

Ruins of the Great East Japan Earthquake Sendai Arahama Elementary School

The Arahama Elementary School in Sendai City, a relic of the earthquake, has been preserved in its original state and passed on to the future. The school building was damaged by the earthquake, and 320 people, including evacuees, were temporarily isolated in the school building, but all were rescued.

Inside the school building, in addition to exhibits on the history and culture of the Arahama area and memories of the elementary school, visitors can view "3.11: 27 Hours at Arahama Elementary School," a video showing the rescue of all evacuees 27 hours after the earthquake, and an animated disaster education corner.

AQUAIGNIS SENDAI

Aqua Ignis Sendai, which was built in 2022 to create a space where people can gather again in Fujitsuka, the site of mass relocation after the earthquake, is a complex facility based on the themes of food, agriculture, and hot springs. The sophisticatedly designed facility will feature a patisserie supervised by a renowned chef/pastry chef, a bakery, restaurants, cafes, and a marché!

The Marche offers vegetables, fruits, and processed foods grown by local producers in Sendai and Miyagi, as well as connections with people from other regions. You may find your favorite product that you can only find here!

Kawamachi Terrace Yuriage

A landmark in Yuriage, opening in 2019 along the sparkling Natori River! A complex facility where you can enjoy the river view and feel the pleasant breeze. There is also a free "tuk-tuk" that operates from near the parking lot along the levee path along the river, which is sure to please children!

More than 20 restaurants with open-air terraces, marine products, and souvenir stores line the streets, and lunch in the refreshing atmosphere may taste even better than usual!

Kanezaki Sasakama-kan

Have you ever heard of sasakamaboko, one of Sendai's specialties? Here at the Kanezaki Sohonten Sasa-kamaboko Museum, you can enjoy not only sasa-kamaboko, but also Miyagi's food and culture such as Sendai Tanabata Festival!

If you come here, we recommend you try your hand at making sasakamama! The attraction is that you can experience not only baking but also making the molds. The process is simple, so you and your children can learn about Sendai's food culture while having a delicious and fun time working with your hands!

Sendai Umino-Mori Aquarium

Only a 30-minute drive from Sendai Station, Sendai Uminomori Aquarium is one of the largest aquariums in Tohoku, where you can enjoy a beautiful giant aquarium that looks like a slice of the Sanriku Sea, and the fascination of the sea from the unique creatures of Japan and the world!

Performances by dolphins, sea lions, and birds in an open-air stadium are a great spectacle! There is no partition between the stadium and the dolphins, so you can enjoy a realistic performance that makes you feel much closer to the creatures.

Mitsui Outlet Park SendaiI Port

It is one of the largest outlet malls in Tohoku, located about 10 minutes on foot from the aquarium. How about enjoying shopping and dinner at night and ending the day with a ride on the big Ferris wheel to create memories?
